On January 24, 2011, the Hanover Park Police Department responded to the Menards located at 7435 Barrington Rd for a report of a retail theft in which a large amount of copper wire had been taken.  A subsequent investigation led to the identification of a suspect who had been involved in similar incidents in both Wisconsin and Illinois. 

The suspect, Bradley M. Jones, 22, of Burlington, Wisconsin, was arrested and charged by investigators on March 24, 2011 with one felony count of retail theft for the Hanover Park incident.  Jones has also been charged in two similar incidents in Illinois and Wisconsin.  Jones was transported to the Cook County 3^rd District Courthouse in Rolling Meadows for a bond hearing on March 25^th, where bond was set at $25,000.00 10%.
