FEMA
Assistance
On August 19, 2010, President Obama
issued a major disaster declaration for the State of Illinois,
triggering the release of Federal funds to help communities
recover from the severe storms and flooding which occurred July
22 to August 7, 2010.
Illinois homeowners, renters or business
owners can call 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or visit
www.disasterassistance.gov to apply online.

Small
Business Tax Credit
Small businesses that create new jobs between July 1, 2010 and
June 30, 2011 may be able to take advantage of a $2,500 tax
credit for new hires.

p.m.

Public
Safety Awareness Day
Next month,
the Northeastern Illinois Public Safety Training Academy (NIPSTA)
Foundation will sponsor its 3rd annual Public Safety Awareness
Day on the NIPSTA Campus in Glenview (2300 Patriot Boulevard).
On Sunday, September 12th, the Academy will be open to the
general public to showcase the specialized programs and
facilities that are available to first-responders. One day of
live demonstrations and hands-on activities are planned, along
with interactive displays of public safety equipment and
vehicles. Admission is FREE and provides a unique opportunity
to not only meet and greet police, fire, and public works
professionals, but also to also get an up-close look at the
tools of their trade. Last year, more than 1,200 participants
were in attendance!

Chamber
of Commerce Golf Outing
The Hanover Park Chamber of Commerce will be holding its 2nd Annual
Golf Outing on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at Villa Olivia Country
Club, 1401 West Lake Street, Bartlett, IL 60103.
Registration begins at 11:30 a.m., followed by a 1:00 p.m. Shotgun
Start, 5:00 p.m. Cocktails and Dinner. For more information or to

Community
Health & Wellness Expo
Representative Randy Ramey, Representative Fred Crespo, The
Victory Centre of Bartlett and Hanover Township present, Just
for the Life of It Community Health & Wellness Expo. This
event will take place on Saturday, September 18, 2010 from 10:00
a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the SW corner of Rt. 59 & W. Bartlett Road.

Candlelight
Bowl 2010
Join Hanover Township for their Candlelight Bowl 2010 event, which
will benefit the Hanover Township Food Pantry. The event will take
place on Friday, September 24, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at Bowlway Lanes
located at 810 Villa Street in Elgin. For further details,
