Village Center Tax
Increment Financing
| The Village approved the Village Center Tax
Increment Finance (TIF) District Plan in May, 2001. This Plan
will provide inducements, through tax increment financing, for
development parties that construct projects within the Village
Center area in accordance with the Village Center Plan.
Primarily, the Village Center TIF Area is intended to create a
central mixed-use "downtown" style development for the Village of
Hanover Park. This concept, which is new to the community,
would utilize the strategic central location at Lake Street and
Barrington Road (along with the adjacent Metra commuter rail
station) to enhance the community's identity by creating a focal
point for the Village. Other portions of the TIF Area are
designated for business park and other uses. |

TIF 4
To address a variety of issues associated with blight and to
encourage redevelopment along Irving Park Road, east of Barrington Road,
the Village Board approved the creation of TIF #4. For information on
potential inducements within this Tax Increment Finance District, please
