Street Resurfacing/Reconstruction
Roadway improvement projects for 2012 in Hanover Park will include the total reconstruction of an existing deteriorated concrete street, extensive patching on two existing asphalt streets, and the resurfacing of 15 additional streets. The reconstruction will take place on Gladiola Avenue and will consist of removal of the existing concrete pavement and the construction of a new bituminous asphalt pavement. This reconstruction project will also include new storm sewers, curb and gutters, driveway aprons and parkway trees. The tentative schedule for this street reconstruction project calls for initiation in early June with completion by the end of July. The estimated cost of the street reconstruction is approximately $350,000.00 and is being financed through the Village’s Motor Fuel Tax Fund.
In addition the Village of Hanover Park will be resurfacing 15 streets throughout the Village this spring and completing extensive patching on two additional streets, Niven Ln. and Sinatra Ln. The work should begin in May and consist of grinding approximately 2 inches of existing asphalt and replacing with a new 2 inch thick asphalt surface course. Prior to the resurfacing drainage structures will be rebuilt, sections of the deteriorated pavement will be patched, and deteriorated sections of curb and gutter will be replaced. The resurfacing is expected to be completed by the end of June and is also being financed through the Village’s Motor Fuel Tax Fund.
