Legal Department Overview

The Village Attorney researches and prepares resolutions and ordinances for Village Board approval; provides legal analysis and opinions regarding laws, court decisions and regulations for the Village Board and staff; researches and prepares legal documents including contracts, agreements and easements; reviews documents, procedures and provides opinions relating to the code enforcement, zoning and other Village operations; handles all general liability claims including litigation assistance; and represents the Village in administrative hearings.
