Back to Department UnitsPatrol Bureau

Evidence CollectionThe Patrol Bureau provides the proper deployment of patrol units to respond to calls for police service, prevent crime, and provide a visible presence to the public that instills confidence and security. The Patrol Officer is responsible for the initial investigation of reported offenses and traffic enforcement (random and selective).

Parked patrol cars.Community Service Officers (CSOs) are also part of the Patrol Bureau, providing support services for patrol officers. CSOs handle minor ordinance violations, animal control calls, traffic control, minor crime reports, photography and evidence processing, and act as back-up in the records/reception area. CSOs also act as safety patrol for school-age children.
