The Village of Hanover Park is excited to announce the kick-off of the planning process to rewrite our comprehensive plan. The Hanover Park Comprehensive Plan will serve as the Village’s official guide for land use and development for the next 20 years. Informed by community consensus, community vision, existing conditions, and future potentials, the Comprehensive Plan will serve as a road map to the future by guiding policy decisions and helping the community achieve its long-term objectives.
The Comprehensive Plan will address several topics, including land use, housing and neighborhoods, economic development, transportation and mobility, community facilities and infrastructure, and parks and open space. When completed, the Hanover Park Comprehensive Plan will be the product of the community, with a vision and recommendations guided by valuable input received from residents, business owners, community leaders, and other stakeholders.
The first community input meeting will be held on February 11th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Residents are invited to come and learn more about the comprehensive plan, as well as how they can get involved with the planning process. Unable to attend the meeting? Don't worry, you can still get involved by visiting the project website and completing the community questionnaire.
On the project website, you can complete the community questionnaire and provide your feedback about the issues and opportunities facing the Village. There is also an online tool called map.social, where you can make your own map and identify points of interest, public safety concerns, or areas you believe should be redeveloped in the Village.
