This year's theme is: Posada: A Community Holiday Event.
The Village of Hanover Park will host its Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday, December 7, 2018, at 6:00 PM. The event will take place at the Village Municipal Complex located at 2121 W. Lake Street, Hanover Park.
The ceremony will start with Carols lead by the St. Ansgar Children’s Choir at 6:00 PM. and then with a "flip of the switch" by Village President Rod Craig and Village Clerk Eira Corral Sepúlveda, and special guest Santa, the snowflake lights along Lake Street, as well as, pine trees decorated by local schools and community organizations will light up at once.
Thereafter, everyone is welcome to go indoors to enjoy the Posada community holiday event. Where the Foubourg School of Ballet will kick off the entertainment with a dance presentation. Cielito Lindo family folk song group will follow with an interactive musical performance, which is graciously sponsored by the Schaumburg Township District Library. Local Mariachi Morelos will be joined by the U-46 Mariachi Joya Dorada and the Bailable Folkorico Quetzal.
“This year’s Posada theme reflects a colorful tradition in celebrating a sense of community during the holiday season and Hanover Park as America’s Global Village,” said the Village Clerk, Eira Corral Sepúlveda.
Refreshments will be provided by the Hanover Park Lions Club.
