National Preparedness
When there is an emergency, make sure you and your family have a plan!
Emergency Planning can be the key to surviving a disaster. It’s important to talk to your family and make a plan of where to meet, what to bring, and who to contact.
Recognize that in extreme situations, emergency resources may be limited. Be prepared to care for yourself and your family for at least three days (72 hours). In the event of a public health emergency, the CDC recommends families keep a two-week supply of groceries on hand.
Hanover Park Emergency Management suggests building a Disaster Supply Kit this fall for quick access in the event of an emergency. Consider keeping a copy of all of your important files in your kit as well!
