Second Public Hearing- Recreational CannabisThe Hanover Park Development Commission will conduct a second public hearing at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2019, in Room 214 of the Village Hall, located at 2121 Lake Street, Hanover Park, to consider amendments to the Village’s Zoning Code regarding recreational cannabis facilities. Interested persons may appear and be heard at the public hearing.
The Development Commission opened the public hearing on November 14, 2019, where several residents attended and provided testimony. Since additional information was requested by the Commission, a second Public Hearing Notice was issued for December 12, 2019 to allow for additional public comment. The State of Illinois passed the Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act, effective January 1, 2020. The Commission is expected to make a recommendation to the Village Board of Trustees for final action in early 2020.
