Village of Hanover Park Economic Development Committee

Have you ever considered serving the Village on a Volunteer committee?  The Economic Development Committee (EDC) is comprised of members of the business community who have joined the Village in efforts to attract and retain quality commercial and industrial businesses here in Hanover Park.   A strong business community creates revenues to fund Village operations and reduce tax burden, creates employment opportunities, diversifies the economy, and enhances our community's image.

Learning can help you to transform your business with new services and communication channels to speak with your customers.  The EDC has partnered with our two Chambers of Commerce (Bartlett Area and Northwest Hispanic), Schaumburg and Poplar Creek Libraries, and the Women's Business Development Center to provide free business training for our businesses, with the goal of helping businesses "do business better."

Website Strategies to Drive Leads and Sales

A website is a key marketing tool for doing business nowadays, especially for the new generation of decision makers. In today's fast-paced world, it only takes .05 seconds for visitors to form an opinion of a website. This B.E.S.T. webinar will discuss what it takes to make a good first impression. Your website should not only attract & educate visitors about your business, but it should also convince them to DO business with you.

This year's forum will take a look at the "new normal" and topics will include marketing, moving to business online, capital resources, pivoting to new products and services, and making an online presence a top priority. Village of Hanover Park COVID-19 Business Assistance Program

When the pandemic started, the Village Community and Economic Development Department made outreach calls and emails to every business and we’ve recently lessened the frequency.   We know everyone is focusing on getting back to business.  Please let us know how your business is doing.  How are you doing?

We heard businesses needed extra signage to communicate they were open, and that many did not have an online presence with website and social media tools.  The Village Board approved a Small Business Assistance Program which has provided “open” signs to over 60 businesses.  And right now, marketing grants are available to our small businesses to assist in creating an online presence.  More information is online.

State Child Care Grant Applications

Applications for the State of Illinois Child Care Restoration Grants are being accepted until August 14, 2020.  For more information, please visit HERE. There is information at the website available in English and Spanish.
