Hanover Park- This year the Village of Hanover Park is welcoming the holiday season with a Santa procession throughout town with a virtual Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday, December 4, 2020.
While the traditional caroling and indoor posada community event will not take place, “Santa IS COMING TO HANOVER PARK”! On Friday, December 4, 2020 from 4-8 pm, Santa will be driving around town to wave a safe and socially distanced hello to Hanover Park families. Residents can follow the pre-planned route and a live GPS “Santa Tracker” on our Facebook page. The Hanover Park Fire Department will escort Santa’s vintage car and alerting with their siren that Santa is making his way through Hanover Park. Hanover Park Village Clerk Eira Corral Sepúlveda stated, “It has brought me great happiness to plan this event as Village Clerk for the last 12 years. Above all, I have treasured sharing it as a family tradition with Hanover Park families and my own children”.
The traditional “Flip of the Switch” tree lighting ceremony will take place on December 4, 2020 at 7pm virtually via the Hanover Park Facebook page. All the lights at Village Hall, the pine trees decorated by community organizations and the snowflake lights along Lake St. & Barrington Rd. will be light up at once to be enjoyed throughout the season.
