A statewide indoor mask mandate is in effect for everyone aged 2 and overThe Governor announced a statewide indoor mask mandate for all Illinois residents, regardless of vaccination status, as COVID-19 cases and hospitalization rates continue to increase. The masking requirements are effective Monday, August 30th.

Illinois' new Back to Business (B2B) grant program provides $250 Million for businesses that have experienced losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic to support them in their recovery:
- $5,000-$150,000 grants to cover operations/staff/overhead costs
- Must have revenues of $20 million or less in 2019 and a reduction in revenue in 2020 due to COVID-19
- Hardest hit industries –hotels, salons, fitness centers, restaurants, and more
- Priority will be given to "Disproportionately Impacted Areas" (DIAs) - this includes Hanover Park
- Businesses who have yet to qualify for state or federal assistance, including the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), Restaurant Revitalization Fund (RRF), BIG, and more

Join the Village, the Northwest Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and Elgin Community College for Hands-On Assistance to Apply for the Back 2 Business (B2B) Grant.Volunteers will be available at Elgin Community College on September 1st from 9am-5pm to help businesses apply for these grants and upload their application. Appointments are encouraged, walk-ins are welcome. Last appointment is at 6:30pm. Be sure to bring all of your required documents! Cook County Health (CCH) offers free COVID-19 vaccinations at all of its community health centers and hospitals to any individual age 12 and older. No insurance needed. Walk-ins are welcome at all locations between 8:30 am – 4:00 pm Monday through Friday. For complete details, including Saturday hours, or to make an appointment call 833-308-1988 or visit MyShotCookCounty.com.
The “Destination Vaccination” program from Cook County Department of Public Health provides free rides to many vaccination locations. The program is open to suburban Cook County residents, as well as Chicago residents who wish to utilize a CCH location within the city. Kaizen Health can provide vehicles to accommodate residents who use wheelchairs or those who require child seats. Call 833-308-1988 to request a ride.
