Celebrating #42 Jackie Robinson's 75th Anniversary
As part of the United States Conference of Mayors initiative to celebrate Jackie Robinson's 75th anniversary, Mayor Craig joined other Mayors across the nation to celebrate his legacy. Mayor Craig stated, "75 years ago, Jackie Robinson brought needed change to the game of baseball by braking the color barrier and opening up opportunities for many future players in all professional sports. He played the game he loved, and his courage and character also helped advance the Civil Rights Movement in this country. In the Village of Hanover Park, we take great pride in our diversity and that is why we are “Americas Global Village.” On behalf of all of Hanover Park, I would like to take the opportunity to “tip my cap” to the great #42, Jackie Robinson!
