Touch A Truck Is Back!

The Village of Hanover Park invites you to the Annual Touch-A-Truck Event at the Hanover Park Train Station Commuter Lot on Saturday, June 11, 2022. The event will be free of admission and will open to the public from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.  A “quiet hour” will be held from 9:00 am -10:00 am for families with sound sensitivities to have an opportunity to enjoy the event.

Residents and neighbors are welcomed with their families. This year the event will feature a sand area for children to play and special photo areas for family pics and selfies.  This is a great event to get behind the wheel and meet the hometown heroes that drive the cars and trucks that make our village run. Hanover Park Public Works vehicles will be highlighted, as well as, vehicles from the Hanover Park Fire and Police Departments. Neighboring communities and industrial businesses will also have their vehicles showcased.

2022 Resurfacing Program

The 2022 Resurfacing Project on various streets in the Village is planned for the 2022 construction season. For resurfacing, streets are selected based on their current condition, which is below the ideal minimum level of service, but not past the point where it would require complete reconstruction.

The standard milling and resurfacing project are a cost-effective remedy to bring the pavement back to a good condition. The scope of the project will include removal and replacement of the asphalt surface, bike path repairs, pavement patching, spot drainage improvements including curb & gutter removal & replacement, ADA sidewalk curb ramp improvements, and various pavement markings installation.

The project includes approximately 7.16 miles of roadway improvements. Please refer to an interactive map of the project location and limits.

Notices to impacted residents will be delivered prior to construction. Residents are also encouraged to contact the Public Works Department at 630-823-5700 for specific information and inquiry about the project.
