Road Closure

County Farm Road Closure Begins

Renewal of IC Grade Crossing at County Farm Road, Hanover Park, IL (DOT/AAR 911764J) 

 

The Railway has funding for a complete renewal of the County Farm Road grade crossing, Hanover Park, IL in 2024.  The complete track structure will be replaced, with a new rubber crossing surface installed.  The Railway has the crossing renewal scheduled to commence at 9:00 am on Monday, June 24, 2024, and conclude by 6:00 pm on Friday, June 28, 2024.

Complete road closure will be required for the duration of the project. HighStar Traffic will coordinate detour signs and barricades for the Railway.  The proposed highlighted detour route is on the attached exhibit, utilizing Schick Rd to the north, Gary Ave. to the east, Army Trail Rd. to the south. Advance road closure signs will be displayed 14 days prior to actual road closure.

Start & Grow a Business

Want to Grow Your Business...or Want to Start a Business?

A comprehensive guide is available to help you!


Hanover Park is a great place to start and grow your business! Whether you plan to start your business out of your home or at a location in the Village, or want to grow your existing business, we have over 38,000 residents and a strong business environment to help you succeed. 

 Do you know what information you should have before you sign a lease for your business? What type of signs you can have when you open your business? Where can you go for financing? The Village has put together a comprehensive guide to provide you with an outline of the steps you should take to successfully open and grow your business.  The online guide has links to helpful resources for assistance including the Small Business Administration, Chambers of Commerce, WBDC, and various local, state and federal agencies that provide free assistance. You can also download a .pdf of this guide.

 Here are some steps to start and/or grow a business, and the document has detailed guidance for each step:

  1. CONCEPT Phase
  • Fill out a business model outline
  • Write a business plan
  • Find a location
  • Open a business bank account

 

2.  BEFORE You Open

  • Choose a name for your business
  • Obtain your FEIN and state sales tax number
  • Obtain your Village business license
  • Join local business development organizations

 

3.  OPEN Your Business

  • Apply for a Grand Opening sign permit
  • Look for resources on the Village website
  • Join a Chamber of Commerce to organize a ribbon cutting

 

4.  GROW Your Business

  • Attend seminars and webinars to learn and stay informed
  • Get involve with professional organizations such a Chamber, the WBDC or the Education & Work Center in Hanover Park
