Hanover Park Announces Results of Labor Day
Safety Campaign
Hanover Park, IL – The Hanover Park Police Department successfully conducted an impaired driving enforcement effort over throughout the Labor Day campaign, resulting in 11 arrests for driving under the influence. Additionally, 33 seat belt citations were issued, with 10 occurring during nighttime hours. Other citations and arrests included:
- 8 child car seat citations
- 50 arrests for driving while license suspended/revoked or no valid
- 44 citations for no insurance
- 59 speeding citations
- 8 drug arrests
“Through the Labor Day safety campaign, we helped to make our roads safer and spread the word about the risks of impaired driving – It’s Not a Game,’” said Deputy Chief Victor DiVito.
Hanover Park collaborated with other law enforcement agencies and highway safety partners across the state for the Illinois Labor Day “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Drive High. Get a DUI” campaign.
This effort was part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over,” “Drive High. Get a DUI” and “Click It or Ticket” initiatives, funded by federal highway safety funds through the Illinois Department of Transportation.
