2025 Construction Projects

Construction Updates

If you have any project questions, contact Engineering at 630-823-5700 or visit www.hpil.org/1234/current-projects.

2025 Watermain Replacement Update: This week, the contractor continued transferring water services from the old water main to the new one. Residents will receive a notification on their door prior to their service being transferred. This work will continue over the next few weeks.

Fiber Installation (AT&T): AT&T has several fiber installation projects throughout the Village. Any questions or concerns about these projects should be directed to AT&T’s Construction Hotline at 800-843-6581. If you leave your name, address, and phone number, they will follow up within 48 hours.

Arlington Drive Bridge Replacement Update: This week, the contractor continued installing the scaffolding and framing for the top of the culverts. Next week, the contractor will finish framing, install the rebar, and pour the concrete for the top of the culverts. The project remains on schedule for a late November opening, weather dependent.

Arlington Dr Bridge Detour

CMAP Pavement Management Project: Earlier this summer, the Village was selected to participate in the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) pavement management program. The goal of the program is to evaluate the condition of the Village’s roadways and then assist Village staff in developing a comprehensive long-term maintenance and replacement plan.

As part of this project, a high-tech pavement evaluation vehicle will drive every street in the Village. The sensors on the vehicle measure cracking, rutting, potholes, and other pavement conditions. The Village has participated in this program previously, and staff has found the information collected to be extremely beneficial.

This week, the van (pictured below) began driving the Village streets and will continue into next week. The van is operated by Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) for the sole purpose of collecting roadway and pavement information.
