Arlington Drive Bridge Replacement Update: This week, the contractor continued installing the scaffolding and framing for the top of the culverts. CMAP Pavement Management Project: Earlier this summer, the Village was selected to participate in the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) pavement management program. The goal of the program is to evaluate the condition of the Village’s roadways and then assist Village staff in developing a comprehensive long-term maintenance and replacement plan. As part of this project, a high-tech pavement evaluation vehicle will drive every street in the Village. The sensors on the vehicle measure cracking, rutting, potholes, and other pavement conditions. The Village has participated in this program previously, and staff has found the information collected to be extremely beneficial. This week, the van (pictured below) began driving the Village streets and will continue into next week. The van is operated by Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) for the sole purpose of collecting roadway and pavement information.
