2026 Food for Fines CampaignThe annual Food for Fines campaign has come to an end, and the Village is proud to say it was the best year yet! The program ran from December 14th through the 31st and voided parking citations in exchange for 10 canned food items. A total of 180 parking citations were voided, and 2,116 canned food items were collected, which was nearly 1,000 cans more than last year! This year, the food items were donated to both Partners for Our Communities and the Hanover Township Food Pantry. Thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s campaign. The donations will have a tremendous impact helping to feed those in need.

New Year, New Projects! The Public Works and Engineering team can't wait for the weather to warm up and construction season to begin. This year's projects, ranging from road resurfacing and watermain replacement to bike path upgrades, are a part of our ongoing commitment to keeping the Village of Hanover Park safe and beautiful! Over the next few weeks, we will provide a brief overview of what is to come in 2026 and what residents should keep an eye out for during the upcoming construction season. County Farm Road Multi-Use Path Project Overview- Project Location: County Farm Road from Greenbrook Boulevard to Ontarioville Road and Church Road south of Ontarioville Road
- Project Description: Install a new multi-use path between existing bicycle paths to provide a continuous path to the Metra Station.
- Primary Goal: To provide continuous non-vehicular access to the Metra and Pace and improve safety by eliminating gaps in the multi-use path network.
- Impact: Temporary lane closures will likely occur during construction operations. Driveway access along the east side of Church Road will be affected as the pavement is widened to allow for the on-street portion of the path. Residents with impacted driveways will receive advance notices with instructions on parking during that time.
- Anticipated Start Date: Spring 2026
Have questions about this upcoming project? Please contact the Engineering Division at (630) 823-5700 or check out our Current Projects webpage at www.hpil.org/1234/Current-Projects for the latest information.
