Arlington Drive Bridge is open! Yesterday afternoon, May 7th, the Arlington Drive Bridge was opened to all traffic. Thank you to our residents for their patience during the construction. We would also like to give a huge thank you to all who worked on this project! Check out the project video on our Facebook page! Minor punchlist items remain, but the bridge will remain open during this work.

Inspectional Services New Digital ServicesThe Hanover Fire Department Inspectional Services Division has enhanced its operations to provide a safe and convenient process for conducting business with the Village. All documents required to apply for building permits, contractor licenses, or business licenses can now be submitted digitally using our online forms. We will review your submittal, communicate any necessary information, and issue your permit or license digitally. We can also accept payments online and schedule any inspections needed by email. All email submittals and requests can be sent to iservices@hpil.org. A fully digital process means a more efficient review process and a safer transaction for everyone. Applying for a building permit, license or scheduling inspections has never been more convenient! Construction Updates2026 Street Resurfacing: This week, the contractor began concrete removals and replacement. This week will continue into next week. If a resident is expected to lose access to their driveway due to this work, they will receive a notice in advance. 2026 Crack Sealing: Crews continued crack sealing various streets throughout the Village. Cracksealing involves installing a fiber-asphalt material to cracks in the street. This work is expected to take a few weeks to complete. Center Avenue Sidewalk: This week, the contractor poured the new sidewalk! Next week, they will continue with additional removals. Lake Street Multi-Use Path: Concrete removals will continue into next week. This project will include daily lane closures along Lake Street from Church Street/Metra Station to Turnberry Drive. Fiber Installation (Lumos/T-Mobile): Lumos/T-Mobile has several fiber installation projects throughout the Village. These are not Village-run projects. Any questions or concerns about these projects should be directed to Lumos’s Construction Hotline at 800-905-9017. Save the Date! Cop on a Rooftop - May 15thThis year's Cop on a Rooftop event for Special Olympics will take place on Friday, May 15th from 5am-Noon at our Dunkin' Donuts located at 7450 Barrington Rd. T-shirts, hats, tumblers, pins, and raffle tickets for a golf cart giveaway in October will be available for purchase. All proceeds support the Special Olympics.

Memorial Day Observance - May 25thOn May 25th, beginning at 10:00AM, join the Veterans Committee for the annual Memorial Day Observance at the Veterans Memorial Plaza, located in front of Village Hall. Following the observance, a tree dedication will be held in memory of Rick Roberts, a Navy veteran and former Trustee. This dedication will take place at the Sports Complex at 1200 Sycamore Avenue.

Be Prepared for an Emergency: Learn CPR. Save a Life. In a cardiac emergency, every minute counts. CPR can double or even triple the chance of survival. Protecting your family, your friends, and your community starts with being prepared. The Hanover Park Fire Department offers CPR training, which includes learning child and adult CPR, how to help a choking victim, and how to operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
