The Community and Economic Development Department has initiated this Newsletter called "Business Matters" for our local business community.

The newsletter is electronic only, and includes information from the Village to help your businesses stay connected to Business New, upcoming networking events, grant or funding opportunities, and other issues of interest for growth and development. The newsletter is also posted on-line on the Village website. Has your business won an award? Is there business news you would like to share?

Be a Part of Village’s 60th Celebration on Aug. 11!


Participate in the Hanover Park Local Business Expo!  Time is running out to register to be in the 2018 Local Business Expo which is being held on Saturday August 11, 2018 as part of the Village of Hanover Park’s 60th Anniversary Family Fest.  This all-day festival will include games and activities for kids, live music, food, drink and fund for the whole family.  

This is a great opportunity to promote your business to Hanover Park residents. Participating businesses must stay with their booth in the Local Business Expo Tent between noon and 4pm but are welcome to stay in the tent longer.  The cost to exhibit is only $50.00.  Contact Kathleen Arnold in the Community and Eco Dev Dept at 630 823-5778.

Seminars for Restauranteurs:


What is your recipe for Success?

Aspiring Restaurant Owners and Existing Restaurant Operators will benefit from two education seminars being offered by the College of DuPage Center for Entrepreneurship:

  • Restaurant 105: Regulations:  What regulations do you need to pay attention to as a restaurant owner?  Topics include zoning, outdoor seating, licensing, building codes, and health codes on July 30, 2018 from 10 am to 12:30 pm. 

  • Restaurant 105:  Panel Discussions.  Avoid mistakes!  Learn from these successful restaurant owners Ana Lucia Santos-Vitelo of Nossa! Brazilian Grill, Rakesh Chopra of d^licious crepes & roti, and Marshall McCarty of the Walrus Room.  Discussion will be held on Monday August 6, 2017 from 10 am to noon.

Leadership Education Seminars at EWC - Fall 2018

Register for Leadership Seminars at the Education and Work Center (EWC) located in the Hanover Square Shopping Center on Barrington Road in Hanover Park this fall.  The trainer is Mark Borowicz, a Corporate Representative at Elgin Community College (ECC); Mark works with local companies to provide on-site training.   Employees of any business, industry, health care, and service organizations seeking to further develop their leadership skills will benefit.  

Sessions offered this fall at the Education & Work Center (6704 Barrington Road, Hanover Park) are:

  2. Situational Leadership         November 13,   2018     1-5 PM
