60th Anniversary Fun Fact

Happy Birthday Hanover Park! August 14th marked the 60th anniversary of the incorporation of the Village of Hanover Park.

Ontarioville Park sits directly south of the Hanover Park Metra Station and is in the heart of the Ontarioville Historic District. The Village has designated this entire area of Ontarioville as a historic district. As part of the Village's 60th anniversary, a Corks & Crafts festival will be held in Ontarioville Park on September 29th so be sure to stop by, take in these historic buildings and enjoy an afternoon of wine and craft beer tasting, live music, arts & crafts and food. Hanover Park Recycles

Hanover Park Recycles!

The Hanover Park Environment Committee will be hosting a recycling event on September 22nd, 2018 from 9am to 1pm at the Hanover Park Metra Station, 1975 W. Lake Street.

The Village of Hanover Park and the Hanover Park Environmental Committee sponsors a recycling event each year. To become a volunteer, call (630) 823-5706. Watch for additional information.

ELECTRONICS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED!

Recyclable Items:
Cell phones and ink-jet cartridges / Eyeglasses, hearing aids, and keys / CFL and fluorescent bulbs / Household batteries /
Large lead-acid batteries (automobile, sump pump, SLA, and marine batteries only) / Motor oil and antifreeze / Clean, usable child and
adult clothing / Assistive devices: walkers, crutches, canes, and so on / Fire extinguishers and scrap metal / Personal documents for
shredding (service is free; No businesses. No hard covers, binders, binder clips, or books. Staples and paperclips OK)

Unacceptable Items:
No electronics accepted / Paint / Large appliances (such as refrigerators and ovens) / Oil filters / Needles / Prescription drugs /
Water heaters / Air conditioners / Garbage disposals

Learn to paint a fall painting while listening to some great music and sampling wine or craft beer on September 29 from noon to 1:30pm at Corks & Crafts.

Corks & Craft will also feature Arts & Crafts and some area food trucks and vendors. Music by the Thompson Duo and The Moods. The event will take place at Ontarioville Park in the Hanover Park Historic District at 1900 Ontarioville from 11am to 4pm.

Time: 1:30 Registration and Networking. Sessions will run from 2:00 - 4:00. Networking to follow.

Business Owners and Entrepreneurs are invited to join the Village of Hanover Park for a free workshop. Presentations by industry experts and succesful business owners will discuss:
• Session 1: How to Grow Your Business
• Session 2: Funding Your Business
• Session 3: Marketing Your Business
• Wrap-up: Expert Do's & Don'ts
• Business Resource and Economic Development Organization Representatives will be available.

Brush Pick Up Program in October

The Brush Pick Up Program provides free curbside pickup and chipping of branches which is then recycled as mulch. This program produces mulch which is made available to Village residents for use around shrubs and flower beds. Brush is picked up in April, July and October. Do not put brush out after 7:00 am on the first day of the collection cycle. Branches with a minimum of two (2) feet in length and a maximum of ten (10) feet in length and less than eight (8) inches in diameter will be collected.
