60th Anniversary Fun Fact

In 1988, the Village of Hanover Park celebrated the 30th anniversary of its incorporation. Due to the close proximity to the annual Harvest Fest, a smaller event was planned which would include a parade, the Village's original trustees, a slide presentation and a budget of arournd $1,000.

Hanover Park Earns Gold Designation & Special Recognition From Solsmart

The Village of Hanover Park has received the Gold level designation from the national SolSmart program for making it faster, easier, and more affordable for homes and businesses to go solar. The Village also earned  the Special Recognition Award for Inspections.

This designation recognizes Hanover Park for taking bold steps to encourage solar energy growth and remove obstacles to solar development. For companies looking to expand, a SolSmart Gold designation is a signal that Hanover Park is “open for solar business.”

As a SolSmart designee, Hanover Park is helping solar companies greatly reduce the cost of installations and pass those savings on to consumers. This allows even more local homes and businesses to obtain affordable, clean, and reliable electricity through solar. The actions Hanover Park has taken will help encourage solar companies to do business in the area, driving economic development and creating local jobs.

In addition to achieving Gold level designation, Hanover Park received a 2018 Solsmart Special Recognition Award for Demonstrating Solar Excellence in Inspections. The award celebrates and shines a light on communities that have gone above and beyond by earning at least 60% of the total points avaiable in one or more of the eight Solsmart categories.
