Halloween Trick or Treat Hours

Oct. 31, 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Please be aware of the hours for trick or treating.  They are Wednesday, October 31 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm.  Please be aware that small children will be out and about during that time, and if driving, pay extra close attention and PLEASE DRIVE SLOWLY.  Most residential streets within the village are posted 20mph zones.  


  • Have a flashlight or reflector.
  • Stay in a group and, if a parent is not with you, tell them the route you will follow
  • Never enter a stranger’s home or car for a treat.
  • Walk slowly and do not run.
  • Always cross streets at the corner and always look both ways.
  • Use the sidewalk and do not cut through yards.
  • Use make-up instead of a mask, or take your mask off between houses.
  • Only go to houses that have a light on.
  • Know your address and phone number and how to call 9-1-1 
  • Your child’s costume is bright, reflective and made of flame retardant material.
  • Your child’s costume fits well and does not drag.
  • Your child has a flashlight or reflector.
  • An adult or responsible older child is accompanying your child.
  • You know your child’s route.
  • Your child had a good meal before trick or treating.
  • Your child knows not to eat anything before you check it.
  • Your child knows his or her address and telephone number and how to reach you.
  • Your child knows the difference between pranks and vandalism.

If you are out Trick or Treating, be sure to be on the look out for the Hanover Park Fire Department Halloween patrol

Fire Fighters will be handing out candy and fire safety material for kids. Stop by the Fire Truck and get your picture taken! 

The Aging and Immigrant Population of Illinois

The Hanover Park Cultural Inclusion and Diversity Committee (CIDC) will be hosting their annual Leaders Reception: Demographics and Policy Series. The topics of discussion will be Aging and Immigrant Population of Illinois. 

When: Tuesday, November 13, 2018- 6:00pm to 8:00pm

Veterans Day Obervance 

The Village of Hanover Park’s Veterans Committee invites all residents to attend our Veterans Day Observance to honor and recognize Hanover Park veterans.

The Committee will be collecting items for our troops that will be sent to them through Operation Airlift. A list of needed items can be found on the Village’s website
