Arbor Day Celebration

For the 34th consecutive year, the Village of Hanover Park has received recognition as a Tree City USA through the Arbor Day Foundation.

To commemorate the recognition, Village Clerk Eira Corral Sepúlveda will hold an Arbor Day Ceremony at the Hanover Park Sports Complex Pavilion on April 26, 2019 at 10:00 am. Retiring Environmental Committee Members Bob Wachsmuth and Russ Hart will be honored with a tree planting recognizing their leadership in the Committee’s many accomplishments throughout the years. With their guidance, the committee established the Community Apiary, the Annual Recycling Event and the Annual River Sweep.

A second tree will also be planted in memory of Community Leader Terri Vlach to recognize her leadership and volunteerism in Hanover Park. Terri was a member of the Development Commission and a supporter of the Veteran’s Committee as well as youth sports in the Village. Her light, laughter and love are missed by community members.

For further information on this event, please contact Village Clerk Eira Corral Sepúlveda at 630-823-5602 or ecorralsepulveda@hpil.org

Don't Miss the Market at the Metra

The Village of Hanover Park will hold the Market @ the Metra event on Saturday, May 18, 2019. This annual event is free and open to the public from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Hanover Park residents and neighbors will gather to sell their old treasures, handmade crafts, and new merchandise.

In previous years the vendors have included crafters of handmade jewelry, soaps, stationary, but also new and used items. It has been a great alternative to having a garage sale for families wanting to give a new home to their used toys, clothes, and miscellaneous household items. The antique and vintage item vendors also offer a variety of collectibles, costume jewelry and old barn finds. Many vendors also sell new goods such as household supplies, school supplies, socks, ties, toys. Sellers of approved pre-packaged foods are also permitted.  READ MORE
