Citizen Satisfaction Survey

Hanover Park Citizen Satisfaction Survey

The Village of Hanover Park has partnered with the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) to administer and analyze a citizen satisfaction survey which will be available to complete between November 1st and November 15th. The survey will be available in English and Spanish. It can be completed online, hard copy versions are available at Village Hall or can be downloaded from the village website at hpil.org.

In a cover letter to Hanover Park residents, Mayor Rodney S. Craig states:

The Village of Hanover Park’s Mission Statement is “To deliver exceptional municipal services to enhance our high-quality community.” In order to help assess our services and perceptions of the Village, we are conducting a citizen satisfaction survey. We would like to know how satisfied you are with the Village’s various services and the Village overall.

The Village of Hanover Park has partnered with the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) to administer and analyze the survey, which will be available between November 1st and November 15th. The results of the survey will be presented to the Village once compiled.

Your input is very important to us. We would appreciate you taking a few minutes to complete the online survey at www.hpil.org/survey or www.hpil.org/SpanishSurvey
The survey will also be available in hard copy at Village Hall or can be downloaded from our website at hpil.org for you to fill out manually. All responses will be maintained as anonymous and confidential.

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your opinions with us and helping the Village of Hanover Park continue to be a great place to live, visit, work and do business.

Sincerely,
Rodney S. Craig

Public Hearing on Recreational Cannabis

The Illinois Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act, which legalizes (and regulates) the sale and use of recreational cannabis in the State of Illinois, becomes effective on January 1, 2020. Municipalities have the authority ‘opt-in’ or ‘opt-out’ of sale and to enact reasonable zoning regulations that are not in conflict with the act.

The Hanover Park Village Board are considering opting in to allow for the sale of recreational cannabis, with a maximum of 2 business licenses, 1 in each county, with no on-premise consumption allowed.  The Village Board has directed the Hanover Park Development Commission to hold a Public Hearing in order to discuss zoning issues such as the location (zoning district), geographic criteria, hours of operation, whether the use should be permitted by right or as a special use, etc.

The Hanover Park Development Commission will conduct a public hearing pertaining to recreational cannabis facilities and make a recommendation to the Village Board of Trustees. The meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2019, in Room 214 of the Village Hall. Interested persons may appear and be heard at the public hearing.

If you have questions prior to the hearing or would like to provide feedback on the topic and cannot attend the meeting, please call the Community & Economic Development Department at (630) 823-5780 or email to  communitydevelopment@hpil.org
