Shop Small Saturday Graphic Image

The Village of Hanover Park recognizes Saturday, November 30, 2019 as Shop Small Saturday!  Small businesses form the backbone of our local economy by creating jobs, supporting community events, sports teams and charities - which strengthen our community.

Did you know…for every $1.00 spent at small businesses, .67 cents stays in the community??  This means when you Shop Small, you can make a big impact on your community!

The first Shop Small Saturday took place on November 27, 2010 and by 2012 every state in the Union has championed the first Saturday after Thanksgiving as the official Shop Small Saturday.

The Village of Hanover Park recognizes that our small businesses are diverse and specialized which helps make our community unique and known as America’s Global Village.  We encourage our residents to support our local businesses by shopping and dining locally on Saturday, November 30th  as the holiday shopping season officially begins!

Census Bureau Announces Areas to Receive 2020 Census Paper Questionnaires First

The U.S. Census Bureau today released the Mail Contact Strategies Viewer showing how the country will be asked to respond to the 2020 Census.

Nearly every household will be invited to respond online, by phone or by mail to the census starting in mid-March 2020. Most areas—about three of every four households—will receive an invitation to respond online (or by phone), while the other households will receive a paper questionnaire along with an invitation to respond online. Regardless of which invitation they receive, all households that have not yet responded will receive a paper questionnaire by mid-April. This map also shows which households will receive English/Spanish bilingual invitations and questionnaires.
