The Hanover Park Fire Department had numerous staffing changes and growth in 2021. With the retirement of our Fire Chief after 19 years of service to the Village, a new Fire Chief, Deputy Chief, and Battalion Chief was promoted from within the organization. We also hired a new Emergency Management Coordinator and a Battalion Chief of Inspectional Services.
The Fire Department continued to work through and manage the COVID Pandemic, which included emergency services and completing several vaccination events. Over 1,000 residents were reached through these events.
Fire Department Inspectional Services Division accepted oversight of the Business Licensing program from application, inspections, fees, and renewals

Complete the design and bidding phase for our new Fire Station 16.
Complete the kitchen remodel construction project at Fire Station 15.
Complete training room Audio Visual upgrade and replacement at Fire Station 15.
Increasing customer satisfaction and experience within Inspectional Services Division by updating and expanding online permit and licensing capabilities.
Adopting and transitioning to the 2021 ICC building codes.
Updating the Village Emergency Operations Plan and recertifying as a Storm Ready Community.
